Centre for Global Wood Security

I am the Miriam Rothschild Professor of Conservation Biology at the University of Cambridge. My interests lie at the intersection of landscape ecology, population biology, and quantitative science, all with the aim of improving conservation of biodiversity and its persistence now and into the future.

I’m particularly interested understanding and mitigating the effects of forest loss, fragmentation, and a loss of connectivity for species that rely on forests and other ecosystems. How can we best restore and manage forests to mitigate these issues, particularly in the context of climate change? I work closely with practitioners to provide tools and guidance for difficult conservation decisions.
