Centre for Global Wood Security

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Oregon State University and a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge. I completed my PhD in Cambridge on the climate, economic, and biodiversity impacts of wood production across multiple scales, especially within tropical regions. My primary interest is in developing scientific tools, collaborations and research agendas that can contribute to meeting wood demand without wrecking the planet.

Currently, my research focuses on the consequences of managing forests differently. As wood demand continues to place enormous pressure on biodiverse, carbon-dense ecosystems worldwide—and is projected to grow—my work examines the climate and biodiversity outcomes of alternative management approaches across landscapes globally. It also seeks to illuminate the often-overlooked climate and biodiversity costs embedded in international wood trade.
