About
I am a Professor of Forest Management and a Registered Professional Forester at the University of New Brunswick. I grew up in the forestry sector of eastern Canada, helping manage my family’s forestry company and over 10,000 ha of freehold and Crown Lease woodlands. Before joining the University of New Brunswick in 2021, I worked as a federal Research Scientist for Natural Resources Canada, studying and modelling the effects of climate change and natural disturbances on Canada’s vast forest ecosystems.
Today, my research lab focuses on forest modelling and management planning, and how management policies affect conservation, forest carbon, adaptation to climate change, and resource economics. In my spare time I enjoy tinkering in my woodlot and spending time with my wife and four children. I look forward to contributing to the interdisciplinary team at the Centre for Global Wood Security.
