I’m a professor at the Research Institute of Wood Industry, the Chinese Academy of Forestry, Beijing, China, and curator of the Xylarium (wood collection) of the Chinese Academy of Forestry. I have served as Executive Secretary of IAWA (International Association of Wood Anatomists) since 2017, a member of the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) Scientific Committee of China since 2020, and Deputy Coordinator of the IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) Forest Products Division since 2024. My research interests include wood formation, wood properties, wood archaeology, and wood identification.
